Former France coach Blanc hasn’t always enjoyed the support of the fans and media in France, and despite PSG’s superb Champions League showing against Chelsea, doubts remain about both his ability to coach high-profile stars and his tactical nous.

Should Blanc leave the club this summer, one solution might be for Leonardo to take the hotseat with Makelele as his assistant.

According to France Football [via Le 10 Sport], the former director of football—who left the club acrimoniously in 2013—is keen to return to PSG and potentially sees this summer as a good opportunity to do so.

The former Brazil international has a proven track record of bringing major stars to the Parc des Princes, and this pulling power appeals to the club owners.

Makelele was formerly the assistant coach to ex-PSG boss Carlo Ancelotti, but has stock has fallen this season after a dismal first foray into management with SC Bastia.
