The Gunners face their local rivals on Sunday, and are currently second in the top flight behind their fellow London side. However, they are ten points behind Jose Mourinho’s team, meaning even a win wouldn’t reignite a title race. This is despite the fact that the Emirates outfit have won their last eight matches and are the best performing side in the second half of the season.

This is a familiar sight for fans of the North London club, who have seen the team hit form too late in the campaign repeatedly over the last few years.

Keown said when asked if Arsenal can win the division next time round: “Ironically, some of the Mourinho/Chelsea intensity needs to find its way into the Arsenal dressing room. We talk about win at all costs but you need to find the balance between the creative attackers and those who want to do their job, do that defending and occupy parts of the pitch.

“Ultimately the balance becomes about blending the players who are excellent footballers and those who really want to win. Sometimes the flair players may not be up for it every week – that’s when you need others to be a real driving force.”

The Stamford Bridge outfit have been in great form all the way through the season. They have been top since the opening day of the campaign, which is a brilliant feat of consistency.
