On loan Roma frontman could be available for transfer this summer as it looks increasingly unlikely that AC Milan will take him on a permanent transfer, according to talkSPORT.

The striker has been on loan at the San Siro since January, though it is thought that the Rossineri are unwilling to pay the £12m asking fee for the Italy international.

Destro’s agent, Renzo Contratto, isn’t keen on letting his man commit his future to the once proud club who have fallen from Champions League winners to mid-table Serie A side. He is though, open to the possibility of moving his client on to either Arsenal or Chelsea if the Premier League heavyweights are to make a bid for his services.

Destro rejected a move to Wolfsburg, who are now second only to Bayern Munich in the Bundesliga, last summer as he felt Roma offered a better chance to progress his career – especially with the promise of Champions League football.

On his client’s future, Contratto said, “If it had been Bayern Munich in the summer instead of Wolfsburg, I’d have taken him there on a bike.

Wolfsburg had a good economic structure, but he didn’t go to Germany because at that time Roma offered a more important challenge, fighting for the League and competing in the Champions League.

“He’s now at Milan in too modest an environment, perhaps the most modest in the last 30 years. If Milan don’t exercise the redemption he’ll return to Roma.”

The 24-year-old has scored only seven goals this season in Serie A in 28 appearances, only around half of which have been starts, and will have to pick up his form to turn the heads of both Arsenal and Chelsea – who have domestic and European title ambitions going into next season.
