The defender has featured 30 times for Les Olympians so far this season, improving his defensive performances and contributing offensively—managing four assists from his position on the left.

Despite being only 20, the France U21 international has become a key figure under Marcelo Bielsa, and the legendary Argentine coach has had a great impact on Mendy—who joined Marseille from Le Havre for €3.5 million back in 2013.

His performances have altered AS Roma and Manchester United, who have had problems in the full-back positions this season.

However, the player’s agent has expressed a desire for the youngster’s situation at OM to be resolved, intimating that he is not looking for a move away from the club.

“There are indeed several suitors,” Meissa N’Diaye began, as reported by Calciomercato,”real and deserved interest, in light of his value and constant progress.

“He is very happy at Marseille where he wants to win trophies, and the ambitions of the club are the same as his. We are on the right track to reach an agreement that works for all parties.”

It is believed that the defender’s current value is somewhere between €7 and 8 million.
