The Red Devils lost to Chelsea last weekend without the key trio, and will be keen to get back in to the form that saw them win six successive games before that defeat.

Of the three, Carrick is the most likely to miss out with his calf problem, but the other two are almost nailed on to return to the squad.

The return of the former Ajax man could be especially important, as it may mean that skipper Wayne Rooney can move back to his natural position up front. Jones’ return could also mean they don’t have to rely on 19-year-old Paddy McNair at centre-back.

Even with these players back in the fold, it will be a tough match against Everton. The Toffees haven’t lost in five games, winning four of those.
