Heading into the final six minutes of the match, the two sides—minnows Lorient and domestic giants OM—were draw level at 3-3, with goals from Jordan, Francois Bellugou and Romain Philippoteaux being cancelled out by efforts from Andre Ayew, Jeremy Morel and Michy Batshuayi.

Having pulled level through the Belgian striker, it looked as though Marseille might put their previous struggles behind them and push on to secure the victory.

However, they weren’t counting on old boy Jordan, who left the Stade Velodrome last summer.

While his brother Andre has been attracting all of the attention ahead of this summer’s transfer window, it was the younger Ayew who stole the show here.

The Ghana international burst down the left channel before cutting inside and firing a shot past Steve Mandanda—who endured a poor game.

Les Merlus killed the contest two minutes later, when Mathias Autret followed up another Jordan effort to bag Lorient’s fifth.
