The Belgian has struggled to get in to the side this season after impressing under David Moyes in the last campaign. He has made just seven Premier League starts under Louis van Gaal, and hasn’t been able to recreate the form he showed when managed by the former Everton boss.

As a result, the Red Devils are willing to let the 20-year-old leave the club temporarily – as long as it is to a side in the Champions League. This will be disappointing for both Everton and Tottenham, who were both hoping to sign Januzaj. However, PSG, who the youngster turned down before going to Old Trafford, may be a viable option for a short term move.

With Angel Di Maria, Juan Mata, and Ashley Young all vying for places on the wings at Old Trafford, it could be some time before the youngster gets a regular place in the side. There could also soon be more competition from Memphis Depay, who the Daily Telegraph believe could be close to arriving.
