Stevan Jovetic is attracting growing interest from clubs around Europe as he looks set to leave current side Manchester City in this summer’s transfer window.
Arsenal are now said to be rivalling Liverpool for the signature of the Montenegro international, who impressed at his previous club Fiorentina prior to his move to the Etihad Stadium last season.
Things haven’t worked out for Jovetic in England, with the 25-year-old managing just eight Premier League goals in 28 games so far, and struggling to become a regular in Manuel Pellegrini’s first-team squad.
According to the Metro, Arsenal are now among the clubs keen to give him another chance next season, though they could also face competition from Serie A giants AS Roma.
Arsenal could do with more options upfront, though Jovetic does not seem a significant upgrade on Danny Welbeck, whilst also looking unlikely to dislodge the in-form Olivier Giroud anytime soon based on current goalscoring form.
