It was suggested late last week by various media outlets that the Premier League side had reached an agreement with Dortmund to sign the the 24-year-old for a reported fee of around £20m in the summer, but Zorc has moved to play down those rumours and insisted that discussions regarding a transfer haven’t taken place.

“There is no signature, no contract, no offer, no request and not even contact.” he said (via Mirror Online)

“The last time I talked to Manchester United was in November 2014 and that was about a different topic.” he added.

United have long been linked with a move for the German international as manager Louis van Gaal looks to strengthen is midfield options at Old Trafford when the transfer window reopens in the summer.

But with reports of an agreed deal wide of the mark, it is likely to hand a boost to rivals Arsenal and Manchester City, both of which appear to be in the race to sign the German international midfielder.
