Arsenal look ready to hijack Ilkay Gundogan’s transfer from Borussia Dortmund to Manchester United this summer, according to latest reports.

The German international has proven to be one of the finest defensive midfielders in Europe in recent years, and could certainly do a fine job for this Gunners side, who have long struggled in that position.
Although Francis Coquelin has proven a revelation for Arsenal this season, there is certainly still a need for more recruits, with players like Mikel Arteta and Jack Wilshere not doing enough when fit this season, whilst also proving incredibly injury prone.

Gundogan’s form has seen him strongly linked with a move to Manchester United, but according to the Daily Mirror, sources in Germany state that Arsenal are ready to rival the Red Devils in the race for his signature.
Jurgen Klopp’s departure from the Bundesliga giants at the end of this season could boost both clubs in their pursuit of star players like Gundogan.
