At final whistle at the Emirates Stadium on Sunday afternoon, the home supporters vented their frustrations with the goalless draw by chanting ‘boring boring Chelsea’  towards the Blues manager for what they perceived to be negative tactics to ensure his side didn’t lose the game.

Initially Mourinho responded to those chants with a swipe that going a decade without a Premier League title is boring, and now he has added to his claims by insisting that having so much possession of the ball and not failing to find the back of the net constitutes to boring football:

“Sometimes you speak about “boring” and you consider boring a team that scores as many goals as we do, but you don’t consider boring a team that has 70 per cent of the ball possession and cannot win the game. It’s quite a big contradiction.” he told ahead of the game against Leicester City (via Mail Online)

“For me, I am very simple in my analysis. Football is about putting the ball in the net of your opponent and stopping your opponent.” he stressed.

The Blues head to the King Power Stadium on Wednesday night looking for the victory that will leave them just three points away from clinching a first league title since 2010 and if all goes to plan it could all be confirmed after the game against Crystal Palace at Stamford Bridge this weekend.
