Manchester United boss Louis van Gaal was still seething on Monday following Sunday’s 3-0 drubbing at the hands of Everton, and the Dutchman didn’t hold back, as he delivered a training ground tirade to his players.

The Red Devils manager has taken a leaf out of Sir Alex Ferguson’s book – with the rant being described as ‘the hairdryer treatment’.

The Mirror report that Louis van Gaal singled out Antonio Valencia and Daley Blind for their poor performances at Goodison Park at Carrington the day after the defeat – in front of the senior squad.

According to the British tabloid, the 63-year-old slammed the pair’s ‘tactical naivety and poor defensive displays’, as they suffered back to back defeats for the first time under van Gaal following the loss to title leaders Chelsea at Stamford Bridge the previous week.

The duo were at fault for the goals from Toffees’ stars James McCarthy and and John Stones.

The Premier League giants have been hit with more poor news, as there are rumours that captain Wayne Rooney could be set to miss the rest of the season through a knee injury, the Daily Express reported.
