Jurgen Klopp couldn’t turn down Liverpool, says German football expert

Borussia Dortmund manager Jurgen Klopp would find it very hard to turn down the chance to take over as Liverpool manager, according to German football expert Raphael Honigstein.

The Bundesliga giants will bid an emotional farewell to their charismatic manager at the end of this season, with Klopp possibly set to move to the Premier League when he ends his time with the club.

With two titles and a run to the Champions League final during his time in charge of Dormtund, the German tactician has become one of the most highly regarded coaches in the world, and could be a good fit for Liverpool.

According to the Metro, the man himself would enjoy a switch to Anfield, with the atmosphere in both the stadium and the city very similar to the club culture at Dortmund.

Speaking about the prospect of Klopp replacing Brendan Rodgers as manager of the Reds, Honigstein said: “In so far as a emotional connection, and an ideal fit, Borussia Dortmund to Liverpool is the closest resemblance you can find.

“The fans are a huge part of the club, they also sing you’ll never walk alone. There’s a special kind of atmosphere in the city.

“It would be very hard for Jurgen Klopp to turn Liverpool down.”
