The Northern Ireland international has suffered something of a dip in form this season, failing to deal with the pressure of becoming a regular starter in United’s starting eleven after the departures of big names like Nemanja Vidic and Rio Ferdinand.

Louis van Gaal is now considering making some changes to his defence, which may invite Everton to make a bid to bring Evans to Goodison Park in the next transfer window.

The Toffees have had a difficult campaign themselves, with manager Roberto Martinez under pressure to tighten up at the back, and identifying the 27-year-old as a realistic target, according to Goal.com.

Evans has been at Old Trafford for his whole career so far, aside from a loan spell with Sunderland as a youngster.
