The award, powered by the football platform 90min, comes after German international produced three high quality performances during the month. He began it by scoring a brilliant free-kick in the 4-1 victory against Liverpool at the Emirates Stadium and then followed it up with a solid showing in the 1-0 win against Burnley at Turf Moor.

Arguably his best performance since signing from Real Madrid last summer came game against Chelsea last weekend when, playing in his favoured number 10 role, ran the show in the first half particularly as his side held the league leaders to a goalless draw.

Since returning to the team in January after a three-month injury layoff, the 26-year-old has set about proving his doubters wrong and is a deserved recipient of the award.

Ozil will be hoping for more reasons to celebrate when his side face Hull City at the KC Stadium on Monday night as the Gunners look to secure a top-three finish and avoid having to negotiate a Champions League qualifier at the start of next season.
