The England international has enjoyed an impressive season with the Saints and was extremely unlucky to miss out on the PFA Team of the Year, but performances throughout the campaign has seen him strongly linked with a move away from St Mary’s in the summer, with United a touted destination.

Clyne, whose current deal expires at the end of next season, is reportedly stalling on a new contract with the South Coast outfit and Koeman wants a speedy resolution as he plans for the new campaign and the possibility of European football:

“We’re still speaking with Clyney and his agent, but of course we have to know in 10 days.” The Dutchman told reporters (via Mail Online)

“The club is doing an offer the maximum what we can do and then we expect the player’s answer.”

“But it’s football, you never know. In football if you go in your last season of contract, we don’t like that.” he added.

Since signing from Crystal Palace in the summer of 2012, the 24-year-old has made 89 league appearances for the Saints and has found the back of the net twice this season.
