The France international has had a disastrous campaign, with injury heavily affecting his progress. He only made his first start of the season for Lyon on April 27 in their 4-2 victory over Stade de Reims in Ligue 1, but has wasted little time in making his mark for OL.

He continued his fine form on Saturday—hitting a marvellous freekick past ETG keeper Benjamin Leroy, who was left with no chance.

Arsenal have been knock admirers of the central midfielder for some time, and Arsene Wenger will likely be encouraged by Grenier’s performances of late in the French top flight.

The 24-year-old will be hoping to help Lyon win the Ligue 1 crown before the transfer market opens this summer.

OL lead Evian 2-0 at half-time—with Alex Lacazette’s penalty added to Grenier’s opener—and will likely end the day at the top of the Ligue 1 table, with rivals Paris Saint-Germain set to travel to FC Nantes on Sunday evening.
