Gerrard has been one of Liverpool’s better players throughout the game, but looked to have blown his chance to get all three points for Liverpool when he missed a penalty with ten minutes to go.

Unperturbed, he kept plugging away, and in true Roy of the Rovers fashion he was on hand to nod home a Coutinho corner in the 86th minute.

Gerrard now only has three more games remaining in his Liverpool career, and is likely to start in all three of them. They travel to Chelsea next weekend, they play Palace in their final home game in two weeks, then end the season away at Stoke.

Gerrard has already agreed to join LA Galaxy in the MLS this summer.
