PSV Eindhoven star on his way to Merseyside?
Liverpool are reportedly closing in on a deal to sign much sought after PSV Eindhoven star Memphis Depay according to the Metro.
The Anfield side have made an offer for the Dutch international and this source claims that despite the fact that the Premier League side are unlikely to be able to offer Champions League action, this will not impinge on Depay’s desire to join the Merseyside outfit.
Depay has been in fine form this term, the 21 year old’s 21 goal haul making him the Eredivisie’s top-scorer, and Man United are also said to be chasing the attacker.
One would have imagined that Louis van Gaal would lead the chase for Depay given the Man United boss handed the youngster a prominent role in his Dutch national team set-up at the 2014 World Cup finals, where the speedster grabbed two goals.
Brendan Rodgers will be hoping to secure a top four finish though as he will be more than aware that the carrot of Champions League football is key to landing top targets.
