With the Belgian seemingly surplus to requirements at Old Trafford the Red Devils may be willing to send him out on loan to the Eredivisie champions. The 20-year-old has started just eight games under Louis van Gaal, and the Dutch side are interested in signing him.

Their sporting director Marcel Brands said: “If such a player like Adnan Januzaj would like to come and play Champions League football, you have a chance of making a temporary move.”

Even with the Premier League side sending a ready made replacement to PSV they could still have to pay £25 million on top of that to dislodge Depay from the Philips Stadion. However, Januzaj could also give United the edge over Liverpool and PSG in the competition to sign the 21-year-old.

The trio of European giants are interested in the Netherlands international after his stellar season for the Boerens. He has scored 21 goals in 28 top flight appearances from the left wing to fire PSV to the Eredivisie title. Man Utd may also have an advantage in signing him because manager Louis van Gaal has worked with the youngster before while he was in charge of the Dutch national team.
