Despite some big spending since Louis van Gaal took over as manager at Old Trafford last summer, it’s clear that the club remain committed to bringing through some top class young players, with Diaz one of the latest to emerge as a top target for the Red Devils in the upcoming summmer transfer window.

Liverpool, Borussia Dortmund and AS Roma are also mentioned as suitors for the talented teenager, who currently plays for Cerro Porteno.

Diaz has shone for the Paraguay under-20 side in recent times, and is widely regarded as one of the best young talents coming through in South America at the moment, with United desperate to see off competition to bring him to Old Trafford.

However, it is uncertain at the moment if the starlet is ready to make the move to Europe so early in his career.
