Arsenal defender Gabriel Paulista says the family atmosphere created at the club by manager Arsene Wenger has made it easy for him to settle following his January move from La Liga outfit Villarreal.

The Brazilian made his debut for the Gunners in the FA Cup fifth round tie against Middlesbrough at the Emirates in February and has since gone to make six more appearances, including coming on as a substitute for Per Mertesacker in the FA Cup semi-final victory against Reading last month.

His lack of English is well documented but the 24-year-old has revealed that his short time in North London has been positive:

“I’m really enjoying London.” He told the club’s official website.

“The boss is like a father figure for everyone, which is why he’s been here for such a long time. He creates a family and I’m very happy that people are praising his work. The most important thing is the family atmosphere within this squad.” He added.

After missing the goalless draw against Chelsea at the Emirates a week ago, Gabriel could return to the squad for the game against Hull City on Monday night as the Gunners look for the victory that would all but secure a place in the top-four and keep the pressure on Manchester City, who are three points clear in second follwong their 1-0 win at White Hart Lane against Tottenham at the weekend.
