Man United have paid £6m for Falcao’s season long loan deal and it’s fair to say the former FC Porto and Atletico Madrid man struggled to adapt to life in the Premier League.

His record of just four goals in 24 Premier League appearances would have left most expecting Man United to pass on the opportunity to sign Falcao but the Metro believes a permanent deal is a possibility.

Louis van Gaal has also seen Robin Van Persie struggle for form this term and may well elect to bring in another forward this summer should he elect to offload the Dutch veteran.

Chelsea and Liverpool are also keeping tabs on Falcao.
