Bale latest: Real Madrid winger’s agent blasts Premier League return rumours

Gareth Bale, who has been linked with a sensational return to the Premier League in the summer, will remain at Real Madrid, as his agent, Jonathan Barnett, has rubbished reports linking the winger to an exit.

Chelsea, Manchester United and Manchester City have all been considering tabling a bid for the Welsh wizard in the summer, but any offer would be a waste of time, according to Barnett.

He said, “Why should we take any notice of comments from people who don’t know what they are talking about – and from people who have failed in management,” as quoted by the Daily Star.

“This is only an issue in England. Gareth is at the biggest club in the world. He is one of the best players in the world. He is fine.

“He only listens to relevant comments. He is 100 per cent focussed on Real Madrid.”

The former Tottenham Hotspur star has found his second season at the Santiago Bernabeu tough going – with boos ringing out from the Real faithful over his performances, and an on-field relationship with Cristiano Ronaldo alarmingly failing to flourish.

Bale’s confidence appears to have suffered following intense criticism this season, which was noticeable in the first-leg of the Champions League semi-final defeat to Juventus on Tuesday night, where he looked almost a shadow of his former self.

However, after sealing a dream move to Real Madrid – becoming the world’s most expensive player – the Wales international isn’t expected to give up on his career with the Spanish giants.
