Borussia Dortmund sporting director Michael Zorc has confirmed that Arsenal and Manchester United target Ilkay Gundogan wants a transfer away from the Bundesliga outfit in the summer.

The midfielder has been linked with an array of clubs – particularly from the Premier League – since BVB announced, on their Twitter account, that he would not be renewing his current deal which expires in June 2016.

Zorc has now confirmed that the 24-year-old doesn’t want to remain at the Westfalenstadion beyond the end of this season – in what will be a huge boost to Arsene Wenger and Louis van Gaal, as they duo are, according to the Daily Star, set for a summer transfer battle over his signature.

He told Sky Sports, “He would like to move this summer.

“That’s what he told us,” he added.

“Depending on the value of the offers on the table for us, we will decide accordingly.”

It therefore looks almost certain that the German will be following boss Jurgen Klopp out of the exit door when the 2014-15 campaign comes to an end.

According to Eat Sleep Sport, Dortmund will want a minimum of £20m for the attacking midfielder, and he is apparently keen on a switch to England’s top flight.
