The Magpies have struggled since their old boss made the move to Crystal Palace earlier this season, with John Carver under increasing pressure after taking the post for the remainder of this campaign.

Newcastle are now slipping into the relegation zone and look in need of change, though it still seems they will wait until the summer to bring a new manager in, with Clement attracting some interest.

The 43-year-old Englishman has been working under current Real head coach Carlo Ancelotti for a number of years, also including stints at Paris Saint-Germain and Chelsea, and is being tipped to eventually move into management himself.

According to the Daily Telegraph, he could now get his chance at St James’ Park, but the man himself will consider his options at the end of this season.
