Loftus Road side in deep financial trouble.

QPR were thumped 6-0 by Man City on Saturday afternoon and were subsequently relegated to the Championship but things may well be set to go from bad to worse for the West London side.

Sky Sports claim that the Loftus Road side will be hit by a massive £50m Football League fine for failing to adhere to FFP (Financial Fair Play) guidelines.

Owner Tony Fernandes will struggle to leverage the necessary player sales to help balance the books to meet the fine against any hope of retaining the nucleus of a side that can once again challenge for promotion back to the top tier.

QPR sit bottom of the table having secured just 27 points from 36 fixtures.
