The Red Devils are believed to be keen on the World Cup-winning striker and, having made bids for the player last summer and in January, are expected to return for the attacking star this summer.

A growing rift between the player and his coach in Bavaria Pep Guardiola—evidenced when the player reacted furiously to being replaced in the club’s Champions League semi-final defeat to Barcelona.

United are believed to be keen to profit from this increased disharmony and snare Muller this summer.

The player’s comments appear to indicate that he too would be open to the prospect of a reunion with Red Devils coach van Gaal. Indeed, it was the Dutchman who have the 25-year-old his debut during his time as Bayern coach.

“However, I have a contract with Bayern Munich until 2017.”
