The 22 year old is out of contract at the Turf Moor side in a matter of weeks and having seen his side relegated from the Premier League it appears very likely the England Under 21 international will be off to pastures new in the summer.

Ings favours a move to Anfield and Brendan Rodgers could well do with bringing in a striker or two given the lack of cutting edge his Liverpool side have displayed this term.

Liverpool were always going to struggle without Luis Suarez but the loss of the Uruguayan to Barcelona was exacerbated by the poor showings of signings Rickie Lambert and Mario Balotelli, whilst the constant injury lay-offs experienced by Daniel Sturridge have further compounded matters.

Ings has netted 10 Premier League goals this term, more than proving himself capable of making an impact in the English top tier.
