Gundogan’s contract at the Signal Iduna Park expires at the end of the next season and it has been confirmed by the club’s official Twitter account that he won’t renew his deal, which has sparked interest in his signature from a host of clubs in Europe, but the player maintains that nothing has been decided in regards to where he will play his club football next year.

Arsenal were understood to be leading the race to sign the German midfielder after reports earlier week in the Mail Online claimed that the Gunners had made contact with Gundogan’s family ahead of a summer transfer to the Premier League.

United have also been heavily linked with a move for the 24-year-old and there were reports in the British media last month that they had agreed a deal with the Bundesliga outfit, but those rumours were immediately dismissed by Dortmund chief Michael Zorc via the Mirror Online.
