Steven Gerrard was honoured by his teammates following his last ever game at Anfield, with the entire squad doing a lap of honour wearing shirts with his iconic No.8 on the back.

The Liverpool legend’s last game at home didn’t end the way he would have liked, with his side crashing to a 3-1 defeat against Crystal Palace. He will be remembered for his many, many contributions over the countless years he spent at the club however, and not just his last game at Anfield.
Regardless of the disappointment of the game, he will no doubt be thrilled with the reception he got from the fans and his teammates following the game.
Every fan remained in their seat after the game, and every player took to the pitch. They all gathered for a once in a lifetime opportunity, to say goodbye to one of the Premier League’s brightest ever stars.
It was an emotional goodbye from the retired England international, but he was gratful for the support shown by both the fans and his teammates.
