The 25 year old’s haul of 17 Premier League goals is mighty impressive when you consider his side have been relegated from the top tier and Brendan Rodgers would do well to capture the England hopeful.

Director of Football at Loftus Road, Les Ferdinand, has spoken of his side’s hope of keeping Austin, stating;

“We would love to keep Charlie Austin at QPR,”

“When I was playing at this football club with Andy Sinton and Trevor Sinclair, if they had a good season, because of the size of the club, people are going to come in for them. It’s the same with Charlie.

“It’s up to us to try and keep the wolves from the door but you’re never going to stop them from knocking and coming in.”

QPR will struggle to keep hold of Austin and given his superb campaign the £20m asking price is perhaps not that unreasonable.

The West London side paid Burnley £4m for Austin back in 2013 and h has gone from strength to strength and one imagines a first senior England cap is not far away.
