The Red Devils have had the Colombian international on loan from AS Monaco for the duration of this season, but look unlikely to take him on after a highly disappointing spell at Old Trafford.

The 29-year-old has previously looked like one of the best strikers in the world at former clubs Porto and Atletico Madrid, but has managed just four goals in all competitions this year.

Still, it is said that if Falcao makes a 15th league appearance at the KC Stadium it could automatically see United trigger the £43m release clause in his contract with Monaco, something Louis van Gaal will presumably be looking to avoid.

According to the Metro, this means Falcao will almost certainly be left out of the team for the final day of the Premier League season.
