Manchester United flop backed to shine next season by club legend

The Northern Ireland international has struggled with injuries this season as well as suffering a six match ban for spitting on Newcastle United star Papiss Cisse, making just 17 appearances. Chris Smalling, Marcos Rojo, and Phil Jones are all ahead of the 27-year-old in the pecking order at the moment, and a move may be necessary to get regular first team football.

The Toffees are in need of a centre-back, with only John Stones and Phil Jagielka currently trusted to play there regularly by manager Roberto Martinez. Sylvain Distin has fallen out of favour this season, while Antolin Alcaraz has been very error prone when appearing in the team. With captain Jagielka now 32-years-old they will be needing a new defender in the near future.

Evans would certainly be a good addition to their squad. He would bring a pedigree similar to that of Phil Neville when he went to Goodison Park, having won three Premier League titles.
