The 38-year-old currently plays for non-league side Padiham, but is already planning what to do after he hangs up his boots. That’s as long as his wife doesn’t stop his dreams! Lisa Ormerod apparently won’t let him make the sandwiches, but he’s still going to try and do some sweeping while he’s there.

He said: “People assume all footballers are millionaires, but I’m not. I don’t think Lisa will let me make the sandwiches but I’ll do the sweeping up. I’ve not got an ego; you’re not allowed one in my family.”

This comes after a career in which the forward has made his name in the upper echelons of the English game. He is the only player to have scored in all four tiers of league football for Blackpool, and was in the top division as recently as 2011 with the Tangerines. He has also appeared for teams such as Leeds United, Wigan Athletic, Nottingham Forest, and Southampton in a career spanning 12 clubs and 20 years.
