The San Siro side are keen to bring in quality additions to help improve a squad that has once again struggled to make an impact in Serie A.

Nerazzurri vice-president Javier Zanetti has publicly spoken of his side’s push to snap up the 32 year old Ivorian, stating;

“We are at the stage where we hope we can complete it. Yaya would give us that leap in quality.”

Yaya Toure was key to Man City’s Premier League title triumph in 2013/14 and his absence during January and February, when he was away on African Nations Cup duty, was keenly felt as Manuel Pellegrini’s side lost ground on Chelsea.

That said Man City may feel the time is right to move Toure on, not least as the former Barcelona man is the club’s top-earner, and could be keen to usher in a new era for the club.
