Danny Welbeck’s involvement in the FA Cup final against Aston Villa at the end of the month is in serious doubt after being ruled out of Arsenal’s final game of the Premier League season by manager Arsene Wenger.

Welbeck has not played since making a substitute appearance in the goalless draw against Chelsea last month. The former Manchester United striker is still struggling with a knee problem and is set to miss the game against West Brom, which will leave him in a race against time to be fit for the cup final.

However, Wenger did provide some positive news regarding midfielder Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain who has returned to full training and could be involved against the Baggies at the Emirates Stadium on Sunday:

“We have no basic injuries from our last game.” The Frenchman said at his pre-match press conference. (via Mirror Online)

“Players back? Danny Welbeck no, Chamberlain is back in full training today and Debuchy as well though they may be a bit short.” he revealed

The England international has missed the last 11 consecutive games after picking up a hamstring injury during the 2-1 win against Manchester United in the FA Cup quarter-final at Old Trafford back in March and there had been concerns that he may not play again this season.
