Ten world class players Arsenal could sign this summer after Wenger vows to spend, including Liverpool star
Manchester United have been rumoured to be favourites to land the Brazilian when his contract expires next month but, according to the Metro, Arsene Wenger is trying to coax the wing-back to the Emirates.
It is widely expected that, as Camp Nou legend Xavi did so earlier this week, Alves will hold a press conference and announce that he, too, will be leaving in the summer.
Wenger already has exciting options at right full-back with Hector Bellerin and Mathieu Debucy to battle it out next season, and the addition of Alves would result in considerable competition for first-team action between the trio.
The 32-year-old has been one of the first names on Luis Enrique’s team-sheet this term; playing a key role in helping Barca to clinch the La Liga title ahead of fierce rivals Real Madrid, as well as securing a place in the Copa del Rey final and Champions League final.
