The Italian giants are keen to bring the 23-year-old back to Serie A, where he previously caught the eye as one of the top young players in Europe during his days with AS Roma.

Lamela has certainly not come close to reaching those heights during his time at White Hart Lane, scoring just six goals over the course of the last two seasons after a club-record £30m move to north London.

It seems likely that Spurs could be ready to cash in on the player, who in turn may also be keen to return to Italian football in an attempt to revive his career.

Juventus won a fourth consecutive Serie A title this season and could be on course for an historic treble, and it is slightly surprising that they might not target a higher calibre of player.

Still, according to the Daily Mail, Lamela is on their summer wish-list.
