Liverpool made three changes from their last game, with Sterling, Lovren, and Ibe making way for Lucas, Joe Allen, and Mamadou Sakho.

Here’s the Liverpool player ratings:

Simon Mignolet – 4

Made some good saves, but should have done more with two of the goals.

Emre Can – 2

Directly responsible for Stoke’s third, heading it straight to Jonathan Walters.

Martin Skrtel – 3

Lucky not to be sent off for two rash lunges, and struggled to keep up with a fluid Stoke front line.

Mamadou Sakho – 3

Didn’t do much wrong, but was overrun by a the persistent Stoke attack.

Alberto Moreno – 2

Taken off at half time and replaced by Jordon Ibe.

Lucas – 3

Didn’t get anywhere near close enough to the Stoke midfielders. Gave the ball away for Adam’s goal.

Joe Allen – 3

Like Lucas, he couldn’t get close to Stoke’s players. Was terrible in the first half, slightly better in the second.

Jordan Henderson – 5

He was one of the few brighter spots for Liverpool.

Steven Gerrard – 6

Probably Liverpool’s best player. Got a goal on his final appearance for the club.

Adam Lallana – 5

Should have been given two penalties and looked threatening when running from deep.

Philippe Coutinho – 4

Invisible for large parts, but showed glimpses of his usual trickery.

SUBS:

Rickie Lambert – 5

Provide the flick on for Liverpool’s goal.

Jordon Ibe – 6

Added some attacking edge that Liverpool lacked in the first half.

Kolo Toure – 4

Failed to stop the cross for Crouch’s goal.
