Twitter pays tribute to Chelsea legend Frank Lampard ahead of final Premier League game

Manchester City star and Chelsea legend Frank Lampard is set to play his final Premier League match on Sunday, and social media users have been paying tribute as a result.

The 36-year-old is joining MLS side New York City this summer, after 20 years of playing at the top of the game. He has played 881 matches to date in his career, scoring 258 goals along the way for West Ham and Swansea City as well as the Premier League giants.

The midfielder broke in to the Hammers first team in 1995, and went on to make 187 appearances for the East London club before making the big move to Chelsea. Lampard became a legend at Stamford Bridge, helping them to win several Premier League titles as well as the Champions League in 648 games for them.

The 106 cap former England international’s last season has been spent at the Etihad, where he has proven that he is still good enough for the highest level despite his advancing years.
