Real Madrid transfer targets as club consider replacing big-name striker including Barcelona forward and Liverpool star

Even though Karim Benzema has performed admirably for Real Madrid this season, club president Florentino Perez has never been adverse to a major splash in the transfer market.

The ‘visionary’ behind the Galacticos policy brought high-profile players Gareth Bale and James Rodriguez to the Bernabeu in the last two summers, and may look to add to his magnificent roster of attacking talents this summer.

Bale was brought for €91 million in 2013, while James arrived a year later for €80 million.

Benzema has bagged 15 goals in 29 La Liga appearances for Real so far this season, adding six goals in nine Champions League appearances.

Despite this, the Merengues have fallen short; missing out on the Liga BBVA title and falling short in the Champions League, being defeated 3-2 on aggregate by Juventus.

Considering Real’s failure, Perez will be keen to make his mark this summer. Benzema may well be a casualty of Madrid’s disappointing campaign, with Le 10 Sport naming three players who could replace the striker:
