The 21-year-old has burst onto the scene after signing his first professional contract just four years ago with Racing Club. Last summer, the young forward sealed a €5.5m move to Villarreal, and has gone on to net 18 goals in 36 appearances.

Unsurprisingly, his debut campaign at the Estadio El Madrigal has attracted the attention of a number of top European clubs – with Arsenal and Liverpool, along with Real Madrid and Barcelona [via the Mirror], all keen.

In latest reports, cited in the Express, Villarreal aren’t eager to sell their prized asset in the summer, and have warned those interested in the Argentine that they must meet the £14.5m buy-out clause written into his contract to have their bid considered.

His agent, Jorge Cyterszpiler, believes that given the number of clubs interested in his client, a transfer in the summer transfer window is increasingly likely.

“We know that a lot of big clubs are watching Luciano Vietto,” said Cyterszpiler.

“There is a lot of competition for him. I think he could leave Villarreal in the summer.”
