Why Liverpool should think twice before signing new England forward

It is thought that the Merseyside club are now favourites to sign Ings, despite Spurs making a £12m offer to sign the forward. The North Londoners made the bid even though the Clarets ace’s contract ending soon so that they could sign him without the hassle of a FA hearing to decide the compensation they are owed.

Reds manager Brendan Rodgers wants to pair the 23-year-old with Aston Villa’s Christian Benteke, who the Northern Irishman is also attempting to sign. After the disappointment of Rickie Lambert and Mario Balotelli this season the Anfield faithful will be hoping that their boss has better luck in the transfer market this time round.

Ings has showed his potential in the last campaign, scoring 11 goals for Sean Dyche’s side. This sadly wasn’t enough to keep the team in the Premier League, but it may have given him a longer stay in the top flight.
