The Portuguese international left Old Trafford for the Bernabeu back in 2009 after becoming one of the best players in the world in his time in the Premier League, and he has arguably only got even better since then.

Ronaldo has an incredible record of 313 goals in 300 games for Real, though it is questionable if the club should fork out as much as £100m for a 30-year-old approaching the final years of his career.

Still, the Metro claims United will be willing to pay up to bring their former hero back this summer, in what would no doubt be a popular move among the Red Devils supporters, who will want to see their team improve on this season’s fourth place finish in the Premier League.
