Arsenal star Mikel Arteta believes that Arsenal are set to win the Premier League title next season, reports the Daily Star.
The North London side finished second last time round, conceding the title to Chelsea with three games to go. The Stamford Bridge dominated the division, winning it with three games to spare. However, the former Everton man thinks that they have a good chance next time round.
The Gunners captain hasn’t played much this season due to injuries and Francis Coquelin. The 24-year-old has made the defensive midfield position his own since returning from loan period at Charlton Athletic. The 33-year-old has just ten appearances in the campaign, and has found it hard to break in to the side since the Frenchman became so prevalent.
However, he still believes that the Premier League title can be brought to the Emirates next time round.
The midfielder said: “The base, the squad, the quality we have is better than last year. I think the club is in a strong position as well to push, because financially it’s in a very good position as well. I think it’s the right moment.
“We have all the elements to move forward, to be challenging. I think we need to be demanding, because we have the ability and what it takes to go ahead and set bigger targets. The club is in a different position now. We qualified directly for the Champions League.
“You can sense a different atmosphere around the club. The ambitions I think are going to be different for next season.”
