It has been less than a week since scoring the goal that kept Newcastle in the Premier League, but despite that the club decided not to renew his contract.

Newcastle managing director, Lee Charnley, thanked Gutierrez in a press released for his contribution to the team, but it wasn’t good enough for Gutierrez who shared his frustrations with his Twitter followers:

The Argentine missed the start of the season as he was undergoing treatment for testicular cancer, but he was one of the heroes of the game against West Ham when he scored the second goal that gave his team a vital cushion in their bid to stay in the Premier League.

After joining Newcastle in 2008 and scoring 12 goals in 205 games Gutierrez is now a free agent.
