The 27 year old cost Louis van Gaal’s side a British record £59.7m and it’s fair to say that the Argentine international hasn’t come close to justifying that price-tag and it appears the former Real Madrid man wants a move away from Old Trafford after just one season at the club.
Di Maria started the season brightly enough, the majority of his ten Premier League assists coming in the first half of the campaign, but a run of poor form and fitness issues saw the wide-man dropped from Louis van Gaal’s starting eleven.
The capture of Dutch flyer Memphis Depay may well have left di Maria fearful of losing his spot in the first XI next term and PSG are said to be interested in the World Cup finalist.
