Former England international David Beckham has put past rivalry to one side as he took to social media and praised Lionel Messi’s amazing effort for Barcelona in the Copa Del Rey final.

Beckham, who played for the Catalan giants’ fierce rivals Real Madrid between 2003-2007, posted a message on his official Instagram account to express his enjoyment of Messi’s incredible solo goal at the Camp Nou.
The Barca forward scored one of the best goals in the competition’s history as he jinked his way into the penalty area and found the back of the net with a crisp finish to open the scoring for his side against Athletic Bilbao on Saturday evening.
He would go on to get another as the La Liga champions clinched the trophy and remain on course to complete the treble when they tackle Serie A and Coppa Italia holders Juventus in the Champions League final next week.
Messi’s brace took him to 58 goals in all competitions for the season and his partnership with Neymar and Luis Suarez now has 120 goals between them.
