Liverpool are plotting a £10.5 million move for Real Madrid goalkeeper Keylor Navas, according to the Sunday People.
The Costa Rica international impressed in his country’s run to the quarter finals of the 2014 World Cup last summer, and subsequently joined Los Blancos less than a year ago. However, last season he played second fiddle to Iker Casillas, making just 11 times throughout the campaign despite his rival’s poor form.
The 28-year-old is now expected to leave the Bernabeu to make room for Manchester United star David De Gea, who has been heavily linked with a move to the La Liga giants. His current deal runs until 2020 with the Galacticos, but has a release clause of just £10.5 million.
Navas could be a great replacement for the much maligned Simon Mignolet, who made several high profile mistakes in the last campaign. The Belgian was even dropped for second choice Brad Jones in the middle of the season, but had his place saved by the Australian picking up an injury.
